Rishikesh is located on the banks of Ganga and is a wonderful destination to have a relaxing holiday. Here we can accommodate many different types of activities such as trekking and camping, rafting and kayaking, some sight seeing and also yoga and meditation. Ganga enters the Indian terrain from the Himalayas in Rishikesh. This is the reason many people visit Rishikesh. You have the opportunity to undergo adventure holidays and at the same time we help people to have a spiritual journey in Rishikesh. This tour itinerary specified here is for people who want to learn yoga and meditation and incorporate it into their lives. We can make a change of plans to suit your needs.
Rishikesh is a 6 hour drive from Delhi. Entering Rishikesh you may wish to go to your hotel and have a little rest and lunch. You can spend the rest of the day sight seeing in Rishikesh.
DAY 2: Introduction to Yoga
The yoga sessions are typically taken early in the morning. Here you will be taught different techniques of yoga and meditation. On the first day, the yoga class will focus on the basics of yoga in a short but informative session. You will also be shown how to perform some simple yoga postures known as asanas. You will be informed about the different benefits of doing yoga and their requirements. We then rest a little, take a light lunch and spend the evening sight seeing and exploring in Rishikesh. A typical trip may take you to the two suspension bridges about an hour’s drive from Rishikesh. They are known as the Ram Jhula and the Laxman Jhula. You have the rare opportunity to participate in the Ganga aarti near Ram Jhula.
DAY3: Learning Pranayama
This day will typically begin with you learning some basic breathing techniques and incorporating them into your yoga and meditation routine. These techniques may seem a little tough if you are new to the science of yoga. However, the benefits of performing yoga and meditation daily are multifarious. We have a light lunch and go to explore the nearby waterfalls. These are the Neer Gadu and Gadu Chatti waterfalls. The landscape there is very picturesque.
Day 4: Learning Yoga
The morning yoga session will focus on the proper ways of doing the yogasanas as the instructor observes you doing these asanas and guides you. You will be taught in detail how each asana has some important benefits. Most of the asanas taught have healing benefits and makes the body supple. They also help to cure the different ailments and diseases. You will be also guided into relaxation through yoga. There will be an ayurvedic massage session to help loosen tightness in the body.
Day 5: Sunrise view
Today we go to the Kunjapuri temple for sunrise sight seeing. We begin early in the morning so that we can reach Kunjapuri by the time the sun starts to rise over the majestic mountains in Rishikesh. Breakfast will be served on the spot. Now you have two options. One is to come back on the same trail trekking to Rishikesh. The other alternative is a drive back to Rishikesh. The evening will be spent revising all the yoga postures that you have learnt up to now in a short training session with the instructor.
Day 6: Rafting
This day demands a little more practice of the knowledge of asanas that you have gained before. It is also a time to test and modify the meditation techniques taught to you. You may want to learn some more difficult and complex asanas that can stretch your abilities. After this calming session we go for some adventure sports such as river rafting in the Ganga. This may take as long as 5 hours or you can opt for a shorter session of 2 hours. We can modify the duration according to your needs and requirements. There are also the options for multi-day rafting for professionals or you may choose to go on a kayaking expedition.
Day 7: Yoga and Life
Now we incorporate all that we have learnt to make it a part of our daily routine. We will also learn to make use of the breathing techniques and meditation techniques into our lives for a longer period of time. This will help us make our lives less stressful. You are free to spend as much time as you want with the yoga instructor or interact with other tourists. We go to the Vashishtha cave in the afternoon.
